Who we are

Our website address is https://www.fastfashionnews.co.uk and we are part of the Finn Digital Media Group, run and operated in the UK and accessible worldwide. Being UK based and bound by UK law, we adhere to the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), tailored by the Data Protection Act 2018.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Due to the extremely high volume of spam comments, this functionality has been disabled.

Media

If you upload or submit images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

We use contact form 7 to process the contact form requirements. This sends an email to us with details and is stored on our server including email address, name and message.

Cookies

Comments are currently restricted to reduce spam, but if enabled and you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

We currently have a Facebook pixel and google analytics on site. This records some of your data but no more than other sites. We don’t sell your data on and have no plans to either. We can’t say the same for Google and Facebook, who very likely do use it for monetary gain but that’s life these days.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

Who we share your data with

We don’t collect any data other than analytics and AdSense, so outside of Facebook and Google have nothing to store or share. They have their own policies of course and this applies on:

Targeted advertising

Installed on the the site is google AdSense coding which enables us to display advertising. Some advertisers may choose to target you specifically based on topics on our site, or alternatively these could be remarketing ads based on sites you have visited, or personalised ads based on Google’s understanding of your interests based on your google search history.

User data analytics

In addition to this, we also have google analytics tracking on the site to monitor site usage, specifically number of visitors, time on site, and any click through to external sites.

Please refer to how google uses information from sites such as ours on their policies page

There is also a Facebook pixel on site which tracks your activity and is used for very sporadic ad campaigns to show user data based on paid for clicks to our site. We only analyse user behaviour to ensure value in spend, although again Facebook will also use this data which is detailed here.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. But as said earlier, we turned comments off to stop all the spam.

Your contact information

You can contact us at info@fastfashionnews.co.uk. Unless you are trying to get us to post some low-quality articles for the purpose of link building, in which case please do not. The same applies for unsolicited B2B sales, we don’t want your email list thanks, we just want to write some informational content for our readers.

Additional information

How we protect your data

Our servers are locked down to the best of our webserver companies ability. And they are pretty good. And as I say, we don’t store any of your personal data so all good there anyway. All the Facebook and Google data is stored on their hi-tech servers constantly moving in an armoured vehicle protected by armed guards. I might be confusing that with a movie, but you get my point.

What data breach procedures we have in place

We don’t hold any data to worry about, but see above.

What third parties we receive data from

We haven’t been invited to a party for a long time, especially not the 3rd one.

Affiliate Links

Some links to external sites are via an affiliate program, which means we would get a small commission on any orders placed within a small time window, which is paid by the retailer. This does not affect our impartiality and our posts are always informational. We do this to pay our writers, as we believe that they should be compensated for their time.

Your Rights:

Depending on the law that applies, you may have a right to access and rectify or erase your personal data or receive a copy of your personal data, restrict or object to the active processing of your data, ask us to share (port) your personal information to another entity, withdraw any consent you provided to us to process your data, a right to lodge a complaint with a statutory authority and such other rights as may be relevant under applicable laws. To exercise these rights, you can write to us at info@fastfashionnews.co.uk. We will respond to your request in accordance with applicable law.

You may opt-out of direct marketing communications or the profiling we carry out for marketing purposes by writing to us at info@fastfashionnews.co.uk.
