Who owns Billionaire Boys Club?

You might not have heard of Billionaire Boys Club, despite it been credited with making streetwear mainstream. But guaranteed you will know co-founder Pharrell Williams, who is one of the most influential music producers over the last 30 years.

Better known for his music production as part of the duo The Neptunes with Nelly (hot in here), Gwen Stefani (Hollaback girl), Britney Spears (I’m a slave 4 u), Kellis (first two studio albums), Justin Timberlake (justified Album), Jay-Z (American Gangster album), Snoop Dog (drop it like it’s hot) and many more. And of course his own releases with N.E.R.D and as a solo star including his first solo single Frontin’ and Happy.

In that video for Frontin’ single in 2003, he was wearing a new street style brand, which he co-created the Billionaire Boys Club with BAPE founder NIGO. Considering it was a one-off release at the time with no intention for later songs, a cynic may think it was intended to launch the clothing label to a larger audience. It’s 61 million million views on YouTube alone suggest that worked.

In 2011 Jay-Z partnered with the brand, to help boost the profile further, which has worked as the brand continue to be the epitome of cool style and trendy designs, at a reasonable(ish) price point.

The Billionaire Boys Club has three sublabels in Ice cream footwear (licenced by Reebok), Billionaire Girls Club for females, and Bee Line (a collab with fashion designer Mark McNairy).

No stranger to fashion, Pharrell has also partnered with Adidas and worked with Louis Vuitton and Moncler on eyewear collections. And in February 2023, Louis Vuitton announced Williams would become the fashion house’s new men’s creative director to replace Virgil Abloh.

Is Billionaire Boys Club a good brand?

Many people consider Billionaire Boys Club to be a good brand, as it has a strong reputation in the streetwear world and its collections are often sought after due to the strength of the designs. Fans of Pharrell Williams distinctive look will no doubt be happy with the styles available too.

So it’s worth pointing out that there are not great reviews out there for the Billionaire Boys Club, but that’s rarely about the quality of clothing which is the important part. Our order for this article was fine, and the garments are of a great design made with quality materials.

To be honest, I find it odd that people in the USA would leave negative reviews on the Europe site reviews, as clearly they’d be using the .com US version (in fact if they didn’t then likely the problem). But here’s what you need to know:

  • Ordering clothes online will occasionally have picking and packing errors as they use 3rd party warehouses who pay minimum wage. It is any brands contractual requirement under long distance selling regulations to deliver to you a full and complete order, and any courier company is an extension of their service and their responsibility.
  • People who have problems are always going to leave a bad review, and only a small percentage of happy customers will do the same unless prompted.
  • If you purchase something on a credit card, they are jointly liable under section 75 of the Credit Card to help you resolve any dispute with a retailer. As long as you have details of your order, it is the online sellers responsibility to prove you got the order as per the invoice, delivered to your hands.

One point of note, is the brand do not refund postage or offer free returns. This may put people off, but this is common with most online retailers now who need to limit the costs. The good news is the website has a very comprehensive size guide which is worth checking out prior to purchase. Alternatively, you may find shopping at End better as they offer free returns in the UK.
